The God of the Long View
The Christmas season isn't just about presents and traditions; it's about remembering that we're part of God's redemptive plan that started in Genesis when God promised that a seed would come to crush the serpent's head. This promise, spoken over Adam and Eve's failure, took centuries to fulfill, teaching us that God's promises don't just arrive—they grow. Like Joseph, who endured the pit, slavery, false accusations, and prison before seeing his dream fulfilled, we're called to manage the seed of promise planted in our hearts even when circumstances scream otherwise. The enemy wants to steal, stop, or choke God's word in us, but when we remember what God has done throughout history—sending Jesus as the ultimate fulfillment of His promise—we build faith for what He's doing right now in our lives. Delay is not denial. God grows seeds slowly, and what the enemy meant for evil, God will always restore for good. We must resist the temptation to sacrifice better on the altar of faster, trusting that in the waiting, God is working. This Christmas, let's not rush past the miracle but pause to remember: if God kept His promise to send a Savior across thousands of years, He will keep every promise He's made to us.
